三明简介
三明市地处福建省西北部，是一座新兴的工业城市，是闻名全国的精神文明城市、国家卫生城、园林城之一和中国优秀旅游城市，1993年1月经国务院批准列入沿海经济开放区。辖二区一市九县，土地总面积2.29万平方公里，人口270万人。改革开放以来，三明市经济建设取得了较快发展。2004年全市国内生产总值376.6亿元，其中第一产业增加值86.5亿元，第二产业增加值165.6亿元，第三产业增加值125.5亿元，地方级财政一般预算收入17.4亿元，外贸出口总值2.5亿美元。
三明森林资源丰富，是全国南方集体林区综合改革试验区，享有福建“绿色宝库”的美誉，林木品种繁多，森林覆盖率达76.8%，活立木蓄积量1.15亿立方米（为全省三分之一），毛竹储量3.8亿株。2004年生产商品材196.3万立方米，松香3.3万吨，人造板68.9万立方米，纸及纸浆59.7万吨。
三明矿产资源丰富，享有福建矿产“聚宝盆”之美称。已发现金属和非金属矿种79个，已探明储量的矿种49个，大宗的有：煤、铁、钨、铝、锡、锰、重晶石、石灰石、大理石、蓝宝石等。重晶石为全国富矿之一，钨、锰、蓝宝石等在全国、全省矿产资源中占有重要地位。
三明水力资源丰富，境内溪河水量充沛。主要河流沙溪、金溪、尤溪，均系闽江水系，总长875公里，年径流量达215.8亿立方米，其中沙溪为全市最大河流，干流总长320公里，流经7个县（市、区），年径流量110亿立方米。全市水力资源可供开发发电装机容量达170万千瓦，现已开发建成的水电装机容量142.5万千瓦。
三明山川秀丽，风光独特，旅游资源丰富。主要旅游风景区有泰宁金湖，将乐玉华洞，永安桃源洞、鳞隐石林，宁化天鹅洞，沙县淘金山，三明市格氏栲自然保护区、大佑山、瑞云洞，将乐龙栖山，尤溪九阜山，建宁金饶山、闽江源，明溪紫云等。其中泰宁地质公园为世界地质公园，泰宁金湖、永安石林—桃源洞、将乐玉华洞为国家级风景名胜区。名胜古迹有尤溪的宋代理学家朱熹诞生地遗址，泰宁国家一级文物保护单位明代尚书第，永安安贞堡等古建筑和宁化石壁客家祖地等。目前，我市已推出“碧水丹山游，溶洞探奇游、漂流探险游、森林考察游、寻根谒祖游”等旅游路线。“绿三角之旅”和“客家之旅”被列为省级三大联合促销黄金线路。
三明工业基础雄厚，是福建省重要的原材料工业基地。拥有冶金、化工、煤炭、机械、纺织印染、塑料、造纸、森工、建材、电工、医药等门类比较齐全的工业体系。拥有大中型企业51家，福建省最大的钢铁、化肥、水泥、煤炭等企业都在三明，有“曲氏”牌痛血康胶囊、“白菜”牌农药、“三恒”牌彩色移印机、“福重”牌振动压路机、“双轮”牌轮胎定型硫化机、“飞鸽”牌聚氯乙烯硬片、“饶山”牌拷贝纸、“天河”牌竹凉席等一批国内外知名品牌产品。
三明是福建省主要商品粮基地和农副产品生产基地。三明有九个省定商品粮基地县，其中有八个县是国家级商品粮基地县；宁化、清流两县是福建省四大烤烟生产县之一；建宁莲子、黄花梨、猕猴桃、茶树菇，尤溪银杏、姬松茸，沙县芦柑等土特产品，具有较高的知名度；具有当地特色的鸡、鸭、兔、牛、羊等畜禽饲养及加工产品已初具规模；2004年食用菌总产量6.1万吨，茶叶总产量1.7万吨，水果总产量66.8万吨，肉类总产量16.2万吨，水产品总产量8万吨。
三明有理想的投资环境。改革开放以来，三明的投资环境不断完善，鹰厦铁路横贯全境，境内公路通车里程达万余公里，205国道永安——三明——沙县连接316国道，三明至仙游郊尾的212省道可直接通往湄洲湾和厦门港，20吨集装箱可直通省会福州和厦门特区；实施沙溪河航电综合开发，三明至福州通航2×300吨级船舶航道已基本建成；三福高速公路已全线通车（三明到福州路程仅2个多小时），三明交通瓶颈已得到初步解决。邮电通讯实现了乡以上交换程控化、传输数字化，具备了国际国内程控直拨、传真、无线寻呼、移动通讯等现代化通讯手段。与外向型经济发展密切相关的金融、外运、商检、海关、货物卫检、动植物检等服务机构一应俱全。三明民风淳朴、治安稳定、人际和谐、环境优美、服务优质，是外商投资理想可靠的地方。

About Sanming
Sanming, located in the northwestern part of Fujian Province, is an emerging industrial city and a national city of spiritual civilization, a national hygienic city, a garden city and China’s outstanding touristy city. In January 1993, with the approval of the State Council, Sanming was included into the coastal economic open zone. At present, Sanming has two districts, one city and nine counties under its jurisdiction, covering a total land area of 22,900 square kilometers with a total population of 2.7 million. Since China implemented reform and opening-up policies, Sanming’s economy has been growing by leaps and bounds. In 2004, the city’s GDP amounted to RMB37.66 billion, including RMB8.65 billion in added value from the primary industry, RMB16.56 billion in added value from the secondary industry, RMB12.55 billion in added value from the tertiary industry, RMB1.74 billion in general budgetary revenues from local-level finances, and USD250 million worth of exports in foreign trade.
Sanming is blessed with abundant forest resources and is the integrated reform and experiment zone in China’s south collective forest region, nicknamed the “green treasure house” of Fujian. With a rich variety of forest species, Sanming enjoys a forest cover rate of 76.8% and contains a holding of 115 million cubic meters of living timbers (approximately one third of the province’s sum total) and 380 million pieces of mao bamboos. In 2004, Sanming produced 1.963 million cubic meters of commercial timbers, 33,000 tons of rosins, 689,000 cubic meters of artificial boards, and 597,000 tons of paper and pulp.
Sanming boasts rich mineral resources, enjoying the fine reputation of being a “treasure basin” of minerals in Fujian, and is home to 79 kinds of metallic and non-metallic minerals, with 49 ones with proved deposits, including coal, iron, tungsten, aluminum, tin, manganese, barite, limestone, marble and sapphire. Sanming contains one of the richest mines of barite in China and its tungsten, manganese and sapphire holdings are among the highest in the nation’s and the province’s mineral resources.
Sanming enjoys plentiful hydraulic resources, with ample water flows in its rivers and creeks; its major streams include Sha Creek, Jin Creek and You Creek, all of which are part of the Min River water system, totaling 875 kilometers in length and 21.58 billion cubic meters in annual runoff; Sha Creek is the largest stream in the city, with its trunk stream running 320 kilometers and meandering through seven counties (cities and districts), generating an annual runoff of 11 billion cubic meters. The city’s hydraulic resources are adequate for an installed capacity of up to 1.7 million kilowatts for power generation; so far, 1.425 million kilowatts of installed capacity is in operation.
Sanming is endowed with fascinating landscape and a unique landscape, as well as abundant tourist resources. Major tourist attractions include the Golden Lake in Taining, Yuhua Cave in Jiangle, Taoyuan Cave and Linyin Stone Forest in Yong’an, Swan Cave in Ninghua, Taojin Mountain in Shaxian, Nature Reserve of Castanopsis Kawakamii, Dayou Mountain and Ruiyun Cave in Sanming, Longqi Mountain in Jiangle, Jiufu Moutain in Youxi, Jinrao Mountain in Jianning, the origin of the Min River, and Ziyun in Mingxi. Among the tourist attractions, Taining Geological Park is a world-class geological park, the Golden Lake in Taining, Stone Forest-Taoyuan Cave in Yong’an and Yuhua Cave in Jiangle are national-level sightseeing areas. Sites of historical legacy includes the original site of the birthplace of Zhu Xi in Youxi, who was a prominent neo-Confucianist during the Song Dynasty, the former residence of the Ming-dynasty royal secretary, which is now a Grade I heritage site in Taining under state protection, Anzhen Fort and other ancient architectures in Yong’an, and the ancestral home of Hakka in Ninghua Shibi. So far, the city has launched tour routes featuring sightseeing, water-eroded cave exploration, adventurous rafting, forest probe, roots searching and ancestral worshipping. The “Green Triangle Journey” and the “Hakka Journey” have been listed as two of the top three golden routs for major promotional efforts.
Sanming has a solid industrial foundation and is one of Fujian Province’s major raw material industrial bases, possessing a full and complete range of industrial system covering metallurgy, chemicals, coal, machinery, textile printing and dyeing, plastics, paper making, forestry industry, building materials, electric and pharmaceuticals. Sanming is home to 51 medium and large-sized enterprises and Fujian Province’s largest steel, fertilizer, cement and coal businesses; the city boasts a large number of brands which enjoy a prestigious reputation at home and abroad, including “Qushi”-brand pain relief capsules, “Baicai”-brand pesticide, “Sanheng”-brand color pad printers, “Fuzhong”-brand vibratory rollers, “Shuanglun”-brand tire shaping vulcanizer, “Flying Pigeon”-brand PVC plates, “Raoshan”-brand duplication paper, and “Tianhe”-brand bamboo mats.
Sanming is also Fujian Province’s leading commercial grain base and agricultural sideline product production base, home to nine province-designated commercial grain base counties, eight of which are state-designated commercial grain base counties; Ninghua and Qingliu counties are among Fujian’s top four counties of flue-cured tobacco cultivation; Jianning’s lotus seeds, Huanghua pears, kiwis, tea mushrooms, Youxi’s gingko and Agaricus blazie, Shaxian’s lu oranges and other local native products enjoy wide name recognition; poultry breeding with local characteristics, including chicken, duck, rabbit, cattle and sheep, and related product processing have taken on a decent scale; in 2004, production of edible fungus amounted to 61,000 tons, tea 17,000 tons, fruits 668,000 tons, meat 162,000 tons, and 80,000 tons of aquatic products.
Sanming provides an ideal investment environment. Since China launched reform and opening-up policies, Sanming’s investment environment has been improving steadily; the Yingtan-Xiamen Railway traverses the entire city; the total length of highways in the city accessible to vehicles exceeds 10,000 kilometers; the Yong’an-Sanming-Shaxian section of National Highway 205 connects to National Highway 316; Provincial Highway 212, which runs between Sanming and Jiaowei in Xianyou, leads directly to Meizhou Bay and Xiamen Port; 20-tonnage containers can be directly transported to the Provincial Capital Fuzhou and Special Economic Zone Xiamen; the integrated development of Sha Creek for navigational and hydraulic purposes has been completed; the 2×300-tonnage vessel navigational channels from Sanming to Fuzhou has largely been completed; the entire length of Sanming-Fuzhou Expressway has been opened to traffic (a journey from Sanming to Fuzhou now takes only slightly over two hours); thus, the bottleneck on Sanming’s transportation has been primarily been eliminated. As for telecommunications, programmed exchange and digital transmission are available at the township and higher level; modern telecom services, including direct domestic and international dials, fax, wireless paging and mobile communications, are available. In addition, there is a full and complete range of agencies of banking, shipping, commodity inspection, customs, cargo hygiene inspection and animal and plant inspection, which serve the city’s export-oriented economy. Sanming enjoys unsophisticated local customs, stable law and order, harmonious community relations, a beautiful environment and high-quality services, making the city an ideal and reliable place destination for foreign investment.
